To develop positive attitudes in the community, we try to educate non-disabled Balinese so they can better understand the disabled people in their communities. We do this by showing them that people with physical disabilities have many of the same talents and skills as other people and are equally able to earn a living and enjoy life.
We exhibit and sell work done by members of Senang Hati at bazaars and exhibitions where non-disabled people also sell their work. Visitors are often amazed that disabled people have made the things they are selling themselves.
We also confront society and open its eyes to the disabled by making trips to temples and other public places. We also organize “open days” at the centre.
